It has already been a busy year, filled with lots of travel and completed trips. One of my favourites to remember for this year, however, will definitely be spending springtime in Paris with my cousins.
This trip had been planned months in advance, back in 2024, and I was hoping the weather would cooperate. It was the only thing I couldn’t control. Was it the best time to visit? Everything else was taken care of: flights, trains, hotel, and more. We were going to celebrate my cousin’s 50th birthday.
So, how’s the weather in Paris during springtime? Well…

…
Springtime in Paris
I arrived a day earlier than my cousins and settled into one of the best hotels in Paris, Le Meurice. This was a special trip, after all. The hotel was truly magnificent, and the rooms and service were incredible. I couldn’t wait for my cousins to join me. The champagne, vodka, and delicious cakes were waiting.
Having been to Paris many times before, this time felt different. The city seemed cleaner, happier, and more vibrant. Perhaps it was the weather: the first warm and sunny days of springtime in Paris. Maybe this really was the best time to visit?
I strolled the streets, visited some shops, and dined at incredible restaurants. I knew the tourist adventures would begin once my cousins arrived. We had one full day, and it was completely planned.
And so… the celebrations began as soon as my cousins arrived in the middle of the night! We haven’t seen each other since Phuket. We only needed a little sleep before enjoying a delicious breakfast… and the birthday cake, of course.
Our day in Paris was fun and exciting. From a quick walk to the Louvre, a cab ride to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, walking the streets and climbing up the Eiffel Tower, this day couldn’t have been perfect. This was all very special to all of us.

And so..
After plenty of steps and many attractions visited, it was time to head home. The quick train to Strasbourg was the perfect way to get us back to my place in Germany. Springtime in Paris was truly amazing. It certainly felt like the best time to visit.
That said, the day after we left, Paris was hit by a massive storm, and the temperatures dropped rapidly. It rained and even hailed. I’m glad we weren’t there then. It surely would have been a very different trip, and a very different blog post.
Thank you, Paris and thank you Le Meurice for hosting us! Springtime in Paris was exactly what we had hoped for.

Back in Germany, we enjoyed some quiet time in and around the Schwarzwald area. It was a little colder, so the celebrations continued indoors for a few more days, with side trips to Strasbourg and my favourite charming town, Ribeauvillé (read my previous post here).
It was wonderful having them around. This trip, however, was only the beginning of the birthday celebrations. We’ll continue later in the year in Poland and we’re certainly all looking forward to that party!
