My private charter boat trip in Phuket

My private charter boat trip in Phuket

Happy New Year!! Here I am in Phuket returning full circle to where I started early 2021. Exactly one year ago. It has been a year of adventures and discoveries, but there is no better way to finish the year than with a private charter boat trip.

Besides being able to hang out with friends all day, it was a great experience and totally awesome!! So, what did I do?

The Phuket Yacht Charter Boat

There are certainly plenty of boat trips on offer along Rawai beach taking you to any Island you want. Every few meters there is a person saying ‘Boat, Boat’, trying to sell a boat trip. The most popular is Koh Phi Phi. However, I have no desire to sit on a boat for 2 hours each way, just to see another island and beach. I had everything I needed right here in Nai Harn.

One day, however, I had a chat with a local friend from Australia. He is the owner of a luxurious power boat, organising private boat trips to the surrounding islands for tourists in Phuket. Wow, that sounds fun! I just needed some friends to come along. And let me tell you, selling a private charter boat trip, filled with snorkelling, SUP and swimming, as well as food and drinks on board, it wasn’t difficult to convince 8 friends to come along. I couldn’t wait. Let’s do it!

My Charter Boat Trip in Phuket

Where do I begin? What an amazing trip it was. The photos definitely tell the best story (thank you everybody for contributing). But in case you still need to find reasons to book a private boat trip, here they are…

Carrying only sunscreen and a hat (two very important items to have on a boat trip), we were picked up directly from Yanui Beach by a dingy to be taken to the stunning boat. Settling in, looking back at the main Phuket Island, we headed straight towards Coral Island (Koh Hae). Snorkelling was first on the list.

Coral Island is a popular snorkelling destination in southern Phuket. You can basically swim to the corals straight from the beach. However, jumping into the ocean from a boat makes it even more exciting. So, each to their own, everybody swam into a different location. There was certainly plenty of fish and coral to see. Amazing!

What’s next?

Let’s just say there was lots of SUP (stand up paddling), snorkelling, eating amazing food, seeing different islands and enjoying a relaxing time chatting. The day and the weather couldn’t have been any more perfect and Dennis and his crew were amazing. Everybody had soo much fun.

We all decided to leave the schedule to our captain, after all, he knew the area best. So, after the Coral Island we went to Nui Beach (remember my blog post about the most beautiful beach?) and Koh Bon for a quick walk, before our final dock at Koh Kaeo Yai Island just in front of Yanui Beach. The spot I SUP at all the time.

….

The time always seems to go faster when you have a good time. So, as the day came to a finish and the boys did their last jumps off the boat to get the perfect photo, I decided to go out for a final SUP, into the sunset.

We couldn’t believe our private charter boat trip was over already. What an amazing day! Let’s do it again!

Being on a private boat is great and spending it with friends, rather than strangers is even better. I would highly recommend it. I have never snorkelled as much as on that day. The day was filled with activities and plenty of things to do and see. And did I say it was fun?? xx
