Paris is, without a doubt, THE luxury shopping destination. For me, anyway. I visit every few months, sometimes for a day trip and sometimes to enjoy a stay at one of its wonderful luxury hotels. Through these frequent visits, I’ve come to know some of the best luxury boutiques, fine-dining restaurants and tucked-away second-hand luxury shops. Over time, I have built relationships with store teams, sales assistants and hotel managers, all of whom help make my stays in Paris even more enjoyable. And with each visit, I discover something new: a bag, a store or a must-visit restaurant. So, from luxury shopping in Paris to the best luxury hotel, I hope you enjoy reading my luxury guide.

Luxury Shopping in Paris
For me, luxury shopping in Paris brings together so much of what I love as a fashion stylist and luxury travel blogger: beautiful boutiques, exclusive second-hand stores with stories of their own, luxury hotels that make a stay feel special, and plenty of fine-dining restaurants to choose from.
Paris is home to many high-end brands, including Chanel, Dior and Hermès. I have always been a fan of Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, and visiting Chanel’s historic boutique on Rue Saint-Honoré is always exciting. It is a stunning store, and the selection is always very tempting. I am sure most of you have been or wanted to go there. These days, I recommend making an appointment, as it can get quite busy. But it is well worth a visit.
And although I’m still not quite sure how I feel about some of the new bag designs Matthieu Blazy is introducing, I always find something to add to my wish list at Chanel. Do you?

Although Rue Saint-Honoré is an amazing shopping area, I tend to visit the other luxury street in Paris – Avenue Montaigne. Alongside Chanel, Dior (his original shop), and Gucci, this avenue has beautiful high-end stores that feel quieter and more local. This part of Paris has an elegance to it that can’t be missed as part of my luxury guide in Paris. Exploring Avenue Montaigne is a highlight of every trip to Paris for me. Each boutique is unique, has exceptional stock and is beautiful to visit.
Paris tip: If you have time, plan a visit to La Galerie Dior. An exhibition exploring Christian Dior and his extraordinary designs. Tickets are in high demand, so book well in advance. It is truly a stunning exhibition.

Take a rest at …
As much fun as it is, luxury shopping can be exhausting. So, while you’re walking Avenue Montaigne, make sure to have lunch at the famous restaurant L’Avenue. Booking well in advance is highly recommended, as this restaurant is very popular, but, in my experience, certainly worth a visit.
And if you can’t get a table, try a light lunch or a glass of bubbles inside the Dior store. It is quite an experience and has somehow become a tradition of mine. Whenever I go luxury shopping in Paris.

My favourite second hand shops
For second-hand luxury shopping in Paris, I always pop into LuxSpace, Old Fashioned Club and Valois Vintage Paris. All three are near the Palais de l’Élysée, and each is a pleasure to explore.

Collector Square – A showroom offering pre-owned luxury bags, watches and jewellery, including Hermès and Chanel. Find it at 36 Boulevard Raspail, 75007 Paris. Make sure to arrange an appointment for your visit.
ReSee – A curated selection of vintage designer clothing and handbags, with pieces from Hermès, Chanel, Dior and more. The girls are lovely and an appointment is needed. Even better if you tell them beforehand which items you want to see in person. Visit the boutique at 48 bis Avenue Kléber, 75016 Paris
Réciproque – An established luxury consignment destination with several boutiques to explore on Rue de la Pompe. Start at 89 Rue de la Pompe, 75016 Paris.

Luxury Hotel in Paris
After all that luxury shopping in Paris, you need somewhere beautiful to relax. I have had the pleasure of staying at and visiting several luxury hotels in Paris (read: My day in Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris), however my all-time favourite is definitely Le Meurice.
Part of the Dorchester Collection, Le Meurice is a legendary palace hotel in the heart of Paris, blending 18th-century opulence with contemporary elegance. From the moment you step inside, you feel special. The service is impeccable. And even when the hotel is busy, the staff make your stay feel personal, greeting you by name and making sure you have everything you need.
For me, that is the ultimate luxury experience. After a full day of luxury shopping in Paris, returning to Le Meurice feels like a dream.
Then there are the delicious creations from La Pâtisserie du Meurice par Cédric Grolet, which draw queues outside the hotel for hours. Having sampled some myself in the comfort of my room at Le Meurice, I can honestly say they are absolutely delicious. But would I queue for them? That’s another question!

The Ritz Paris
Not short of temptations in Paris, the latest incredible experience I had was the afternoon tea at the Ritz Paris. A place where time sits still, it is an indulgence that makes a wonderful addition to a day of luxury shopping. Although I haven’t yet had the chance to stay at the Ritz, it is still on my to-do list, the afternoon tea at Salon Proust was absolutely outstanding. You should try for yourself.
Of course, no matter where you are, croissants and champagne any time of the day is a must. It wouldn’t be called luxury shopping in Paris otherwise. And we are all allowed to indulge once in a while, right? I certainly did. Especially on my Birthday!
