Yes, I came back to the Big Apple! Who would have thought I’d visit New York twice in one year? But here I was again, ready to spend one week in New York City.
This trip felt different from my first. Not only because I was already familiar with the streets, but also because I was experiencing New York in the fall. I arrived wearing a winter coat, but the weather grew warmer each day. It turned into another amazing week in New York!
And let me tell you, my second bite of the Big Apple was just as thrilling as the first. As soon as my cab approached Manhattan, I felt at home. I revisited some of the city’s most iconic places – how could I possibly skip Times Square? – but I also took the time to discover new streets and hidden corners.
I love New York, or should I say Manhattan? Even after two trips, I still haven’t ventured beyond it. There is simply so much to explore!

New York in the fall – Manhattan
The architecture remains one of my favourite things about Manhattan. Every building has its own character, yet they all blend seamlessly into the city’s unique skyline. Then, of course, there are the shopping and dining options. From the distinctive boutiques of SoHo to the stylish bars and restaurants of the Upper East Side, Manhattan has a personality all its own.
During my one week in New York City, I strolled along the High Line, a public park built on a former elevated railway, browsed every antique shop I could find, and simply enjoyed New York in the fall.
Were there more tourists than during my visit in July with my friend? I guess the 4th of July celebrations brought more visitors. Although, it was difficult to tell. The city was still as bustling, hectic, and loud as ever, exactly what you would expect from New York! Read my blog here: New York, Hudson River and the 4th July.
After a week of walking and feeling as though I had explored nearly every corner of Manhattan, I decided to take a boat tour on my final day. Yes, it was a little touristy, but the sun was shining, and I wanted to see the island from a fresh perspective. And I had time during my one week in New York City.

The Boat trip
It was the perfect late-October day for a boat trip. Ideally, I would have loved to sail along the Hudson River and explore some of the charming towns beyond Manhattan. However, because I made my decision at the last minute and many tours were already fully booked, I chose a 90-minute cruise aboard the beautiful Clipper City instead. After all, I love sailing, so why not sail in New York?
The trip was a blast! Thomas was a fantastic host, and with upbeat music, quality drinks, and an incredible close-up view of the Statue of Liberty, my one week in New York City felt complete.
It was the perfect ending to my experience of New York in the fall. After two visits in one year, I can finally say that I have seen Manhattan in all its glory! It may be a while before I return, but then again, who knows?
For now, I’m off to a new country, just a short flight from New York. Can you guess where?
